Stuff for a background i was working on before i dropped it for the Totoro design.

Guess whose finally cracked and installed photoshop on their lappie. Though this doesn’t mean my hiatus is over, (but i still can’t draw :S), it simply means i’ll be posting less and less often (i think).

Drawing a random hairdo turned into that awkward character because i can’t draw profiles very well, and then that turned into that horrible colored version.

I made this to be my desktop background, but it sucked so i dumped it. Three versions, sketch, colored with lines, and plane colored

Thought it was time for some ‘realistic art’. The photoset shows the basic skeleton i used, and the two drawings i made (go layers!). Lets call them brothers; the first one is better than the second, where i didn’t pay much attention to the composition of the anatomy because i was trying to draw a modern 'do for the first time.

Anyhoooo….

I wish i could say that i’m talented enough to draw my own profile, but i’m not; i traced this. This is an honest portrait of myself, which i feel every artist, wannabe or professional, must do for the sake of deeper reflection.

Today i used a different brush (its that brush that squarish, in the default brush presets :S) and i’m going to be using it quite alot from now on :D

I’m quite happy with this one (i’m naming her Cecil), everything went well from the beginning, and i think thats why, being as vain and proud as i am, i did different versions of her.

But i’ll post my final version of her next :)
