I was trying to draw a wolf, ended up with this. Look the bright side (theres a bright side?) i’m keeping my promise of posting fantasy art, and to some extent i’m fulfilling my need to draw Native American related art.

“Today the world might be throwing a hoopla or two about Kate (i refuse to call her Katherine) & William’s wedding, but I have something better to celebrate: Jonathan’s birthday!!

Now, i understand me and Jonathan don’t know each other that well (and no, i’m not talking about the online buddies gap), but i feel we both share some very common interests: hating homework, hating homework, blogging, hating homework, eating, hating homework, Digimon, music, and did i mention hating homework?Either way you look at, irrespective of the fact that we’ve failed to stay in touch, a nice person for me is enough to make a big deal about their birthday, which i will dutifully do.

Jonathan, you’re 18, flooded with homework and the pressure to succeed, and on top of that, your birthdays been overshadowed by some very selfish royals, but chin up buddy, because you’ve got one thing a lot of people forget they have, a big smile, and lots of well-wishing friends, PLUS, a panda hugging maniac like myself…now don’t you feel better?  But honestly, i wish you the best of luck with everything, i hope you get lots of presents, are surrounded always by the loving people, and, (AND!) i hope you like the video i made for you (links on fb…soooooon), and the drawing i traced for you. Wait, somethings missing…ah, yes:

Anyhooooooo…Happy Birthday Jonathan, enjoy yourself, you’re only 18 once, and in this depressing day and age, living this long is somewhat an achievement, and its an age of fearlessness and exploration, which i hope goes well for you :)

I attempted to draw.. ‘Resting in the Shade after a game of Croquet’ by Philip Hennogenes Calderon…its the cover of the book i’m reading right now.. The Portrait of a Lady. I started reading it on 1st August 2010, Sunday, stopped around November i think, and restarted a few days ago. – Yes, i write the start and finish dates of the novels i read/i’ve read.–I’m doing a lot of attempts of old classical paintings, i don’t know, i just find it easier i suppose, it sort of gives me an idea of things…anyhooo…

..Anyhoo, next up is the sketch i did of it long ago, but scanned, before my scanner went bust on me :S

I wish i could say that i’m talented enough to draw my own profile, but i’m not; i traced this. This is an honest portrait of myself, which i feel every artist, wannabe or professional, must do for the sake of deeper reflection.
